While visiting some friends in Cuenca, Ecuador, I met Ron and Jamie Raitan, who had just started a new company selling alpaca garments that were made by artisans, who reside in the heart of the Andes Mountains. These artists continue to practice century old traditions, creating sustainable goods while living a life of peace and simplicity. We decided it would be fun to do a fashion shoot at the Ingapirca Ruins, located in the Cañar province. The Ingapirca ruins are the most significant vestige of Incan existence in all of Ecuador and are the second oldest Inca ruins in all of South America. Jamie, the owner of Pearth Blankets became our model at the ruins and upon returning to the studio in California, we hired professional models to show the whole line.
