Once the gatekeepers of the industry, today fashion magazines have been usurped by the internet. For some, this move is democratizing, removing the elitism that the fashion industry old guard have long been accused of fostering. But for many, it is the gentle dumbing down of a once proud art form. I believe that most photographers still prefer to see their work in print, rather than online. Print has more staying power and it's not uncommon for people to hold on to magazines for months, if not years.
