Portraits | Studio
Portraits taken in the studio differ from location portraits in that they tend to be more formal where I have complete control over the lighting and access to the many tools I have to modify the light. I try to get my subjects to let down their guard revealing who they truly are, which often requires engaging in casual conversation until they feel comfortable. I usually have my camera on a tripod so I can maintain eye contact and direct their movements while I'm shooting. With a career spanning four decades, I've taken headshots of countless luminaries, from all walks of life, including doctors, lawyers, bankers, builders, realtors, restaurateurs, chefs, teachers, musicians, corporate executives, winemakers, actors, models, politicians and philanthropists.
